Deputy Base Commander Calvins Ochieng Onganda tragically passed away on Monday morning in a head-on collision on the Narok-Bomet road.
According to a police report, Commander Onganda was driving towards Narok from Bomet when he attempted to overtake a lorry, resulting in a collision with an oncoming vehicle.
The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to veer off the road onto the right side, facing the direction of Bomet.
Unfortunately, Commander Onganda sustained severe injuries to his legs and chest and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
His body has been transported to Longisa County Referral Hospital, where it will undergo an autopsy.
Both vehicles involved in the accident have been towed to Ololulunga Police Station for further inspection.
