An enraged police officer opened fire inside a wines and spirits joint in Narok County after his phone was confiscated for failing to settle a Sh2,220 bill.
According to a police report, the officer, identified as Dennis Imai, visited the establishment around 6 pm on Sunday. Upon arrival, Jackline Jemeli, an attendant at the establishment, confiscated his phone due to the outstanding beer bill.
After leaving the premises, Imai returned 30 minutes later, fully dressed in his police uniform and armed with a rifle, accompanied by an unidentified boda-boda rider. The report states that Imai demanded the return of his phone, and when Jemeli did not comply, he discharged a round of ammunition before fleeing the scene with the boda-boda rider.
