DCI launches murder investigation after woman’s body found in Embakasi

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Embakasi Police Station have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a young woman’s body in the Jua Kali area of Embakasi East constituency, Nairobi County.

In a statement shared on social media on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the DCI reported that the woman was allegedly strangled to death by two men. The incident, which took place on the night of Monday, March 17, 2025, was brought to the attention of the authorities by three Jua Kali residents who responded to a distress call after hearing a commotion near their houses at around midnight.

“Detectives in Embakasi have taken up for investigations a murder case where a young woman is reported to have been strangled to death by two men at Jua Kali area of Embakasi in Nairobi. The incident that occurred last night was reported by three Jua Kali residents who had responded to a distress call after hearing a commotion near their houses at around midnight,” the DCI stated.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
