Kenyan influencer and musician Diana Bahati has candidly shared details about her past struggles, marriage, and public criticism surrounding her influence on her husband, singer Bahati.
Reflecting on her past, Diana admitted that life has not always been easy and that she once dated men for financial support.
“My life has not been rosy, and I have done some things I am not proud of, but it was part of my life and in the past. I used to date guys for money. I had one who paid my rent, another who did my shopping, and another who handled my wardrobe,” she revealed.
In her marriage, Diana recalled a painful moment when Bahati gifted a female fan with a jacket she had bought for him.
“One hurtful thing my husband did was give a jacket I bought him to a female fan who twerked on him on stage. That hurt me,” she shared.
She also addressed accusations that she led her husband away from gospel music into the secular industry.
“I’ve been accused of leading my husband astray—from a gospel singer to secular music—and that my ‘bad’ influence has corrupted him. I ask myself the same question: Have I corrupted him in any way? I find that narrative funny; it is laughable. Is he not a man old enough to make up his mind?”
On the secret to a successful marriage, Diana emphasized three key aspects.
“If there are any secrets to a successful marriage, I think sex is very fundamental. Also, try to be friends with your partner, and thirdly, understand that you are two different people, so learn to accommodate each other,” she advised.
