A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Mombasa for allegedly distributing child sexual abuse material through his Gmail account.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended the suspect, Ramadhan Yahya Hussein, in the Majengo area following a tip-off from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
According to the DCI, Hussein was involved in circulating explicit content involving minors and trading in Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
Following his arrest, investigators searched his residence in Likoni Maweni village, where they seized two mobile phones, a memory card, and several identification documents. The items are undergoing forensic examination as authorities work to gather further evidence.
Hussein remains in police custody as investigations continue.
