Detectives in Machakos have successfully dismantled a burglary syndicate that has been terrorizing businesses in Machakos and Joska. In a well-planned sting operation, officers arrested the alleged mastermind, Wycliffe Matheka Kithuku, alias Uthex, along with his accomplices Cynthia Mbithe Musyoka and Jackson Wambua Mutinda.

For months, the gang had been executing daring hardware break-ins, operating under the cover of darkness and vanishing without a trace. Their crime spree came to an end when detectives apprehended them and recovered key evidence, including their getaway motorcycle (KMGP 114M) and burglary tools such as a bolt cutter and a long metal rod used to break locks and intimidate security personnel.

As investigations progressed, police tracked down Brian Wambua Manza in Machakos town and arrested him before he could flee. Under pressure, Manza led officers to a scrap metal dealer where stolen goods from a Joska hardware store were hidden.

Further inquiries revealed that Kithuku, Mutinda, and Manza had recently been released from Machakos GK Prison, only to return to crime. Authorities are now working to dismantle any remaining networks associated with the syndicate.
