Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has addressed online rumors linking him to the Illuminati, dismissing them as unfounded.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Mavin Records artist expressed concern over the impact of such allegations, revealing that they have influenced his fanbase. “Random stories have been made up about me being Illuminati, worshipping the devil, and drinking blood. I definitely lose some fans who just believe anything they see,” he said.
Rema also clarified the significance of the accessories he wears, explaining that they are a tribute to his late father and brother, serving as a reminder of his humble beginnings.
Recently, Rema made history as the first Nigerian artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone’s Future of Music magazine.
