A decomposing body was discovered packed in a sack and dumped in a dam in Munyu area, Laikipia, on March 30, sparking a police investigation into what appears to be a murder.
According to locals, they noticed a sack floating on the dam, which prompted them to check its contents. Upon retrieving the sack from the water, they were horrified to discover the body inside.
Police confirmed that the body was missing its head, hands, and legs, suggesting that the torso may have been killed elsewhere before being discarded in the dam.
The remains were later taken to the Nyahururu County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
The police are actively investigating the incident, but the motive for the murder remains unclear.
