Kenya’s former CJ David Maraga has affirmed that he will fulfill the Genz’s request of vying for presidency in 2027.

He said that youths have pressured him to vie for the top country’s seat because he has the leadership qualities backed by his excellent and exemplary past performance record.

Maraga made the affirmation on Monday while convening his first consultative meeting in Nyamira seeking for approval from opinion leaders and renowned political echelons within the county and beyond who have promised to support his political ambition till the end.

“This is our first county hall consultation meeting to beseech for your approval and blessing to be assured that you will rally behind me till the D day in 2027. We will be conducting similar meetings in all the 47 counties and soon we will put in place functional structures to enable us fulfill all the requirements expected of one to run for a political seat in this country.

“I have a formidable team of professionals who are working round the clock to ensure that we create and name a political party and later at the fullness of time do a grand launch of my political manifesto for Kenyans to know my political blueprint and its execution strategy to redeem and transform our country,” the retired CJ promised.

Maraga mentioned inability by the current leadership to stump out deep rooted corruption as the root cause of Kenya’s economic crisis, lack of respect for the rule of law, substandard healthcare to the citizens with nonfunctioning health insurance schemes amongst other thorny issues which have made the living standards unbearable to many Kenyans.

“I need your prayers, good will and genuine support. Our country is in a great crisis which needs an honest, just, bold and fearless leader to help it come out of the current crisis which we have been plunged into by poor leadership,” said Maraga.

He advised Nyamira residents to respect all Kenyans vying for any political seat since it is a democratic right.

“Give political aspirants ample time to present their political manifestos knowing very well that you have the freedom to choose who you will vote for during the D-day. Don’t heckle them down causing unnecessary chaos, let the political forums be peaceful because we all will eventually make an individual decision on who to democratically vote for. I’m not party to rogue political competition where hooligans are sent to disrupt people’s meetings and peaceful gatherings, that is not my mature and I will not condone it,” the former CJ counselled.

He appealed to youths to ensure that they have applied for national ID cards and registered as voters when the time shall be announced to be able to make a political decision of voting him as Kenya’s president in 2027.
