Seven regions that will receive heavy rainfall this week

The Kenya Meteorological Department has released a 7-day forecast indicating that significant rainfall will continue across much of the country from April 22 to April 28, 2025.

Regions to Expect Heavy Rainfall:

  • Central Highlands, including Nairobi
  • Western Kenya
  • Areas around the Lake Victoria Basin
  • Southeastern Lowlands
  • Parts of the Central and South Rift Valley
  • North-Eastern Kenya – though generally drier, scattered heavy showers are expected

Temperature Outlook:

  • High Daytime Temperatures (Above 30°C):
    • Coastal Region
    • Parts of North-Eastern and North-Western Kenya
    • Isolated areas in Western Kenya
  • Cool Nights (Below 10°C):
    • Central Highlands
    • Central Rift Valley
    • Areas around Mt. Kilimanjaro

The Kenya Meteorological Department urges residents in flood-prone areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions. Motorists are also advised to exercise caution due to slippery roads and reduced visibility in affected regions.
