Celebrated Taarab singer Khadija Kopa has finally addressed her much-talked-about absence from the glamorous wedding of her daughter, Zuchu, to Tanzanian music star and Wasafi WCB boss Diamond Platnumz.
Speaking during a press briefing in Mombasa, Khadija Kopa dismissed weeks of speculation and online chatter suggesting her absence signaled disapproval of the union.
The veteran singer explained that her decision not to attend the wedding was not born out of conflict or bitterness, but stemmed from personal reflection and respect for boundaries.
Khadija also firmly rejected the online narrative that she was opposed to her daughter marrying Diamond, reiterating that her bond with Zuchu remains unshaken.
“Nilikuwa naye tangu tumboni hadi hapa alipo. Huwezi kufuta hilo. Kutokuwepo kwangu hakuondoi upendo wangu.”
