Kenyan musician Stoopid Boy has opened up about the dark spiral his life has taken since completing rehabilitation, accusing several individuals in the entertainment industry of making empty promises and abandoning him at his most vulnerable.
Speaking during an interview on Ghetto Radio, the G Bag Na Jug hitmaker expressed deep frustration, alleging that people who had pledged to support his recovery journey went silent after rehab.
“Right now I have paranoia, I am also suffering from depression, being alone. I also feel I was badly used. I am angry because of the fake promises I was given. I knew when I leave rehab I would have my own place. Then I was told I will be living with some man…” he said.
According to the artist, part of his post-rehab plan had included accommodation and job opportunities, but nothing materialized.
Oga Obinna, who was part of the team that facilitated his rehab, had publicly stated that Stoopid Boy would stay with Munez for three months as he prepared to resume school. However, the experience, Stoopid claims, became toxic.
He recalled a moment when Munez was harsh and rude toward him over a minor mistake, leaving him feeling unwelcomed and disrespected.
Stoopid Boy also revealed that his decision to enter rehab had been driven by his desire to provide a better future for his family.
“I accepted to go to rehab because I wanted to give my mum and kids a better life.”
The artist did not hold back his bitterness over being overlooked once he completed the program.
“If they gave me a job after rehab I would not even have been on the internet. I preferred to have a shop selling kids clothing. Rehab only makes you more depressed and the doctors know. When you leave that place you should get something to do.”
“People think I am a fool but when I give you my mind, you will walk bare on the streets.”
