Kenyan comedian Cyprian Osoro has opened up about his fallout with fellow comedian Victor Nyaata, accusing his former colleague of jealousy and undermining the work they built together under the Mkisii Ni Mkisii brand.

Osoro alleges that the disagreement involved money, control of the brand and access to their joint financial accounts. He further claims that Nyaata interfered with major opportunities involving influencers and television appearances.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and Nyaata has yet to publicly respond to Osoro’s claims.

The dispute has now spilled into the organisation of Mkisii Fest, with Osoro questioning the recent event held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

According to Osoro, the KICC show was organised by a newly registered company whose name allegedly resembles the original Mkisii Ni Mkisii brand while he was in the United States.

He also claims he has been locked out of the brand’s social media accounts for the past seven months, further deepening the disagreement over control of the platform.

Despite the financial aspects of the dispute, Osoro insists the disagreement is not primarily about money.

“It’s not about the money,” he said, expressing disappointment that someone he regarded as a brother could allegedly undermine a brand they had spent years building.

Osoro says he intends to reveal more details about the fallout, potentially shedding further light on the events that led to the breakdown of their working relationship.
