Popular YouTuber Commentator has opened up about the rocky moments in his relationship with girlfriend Moureen Ngigi, revealing he once came close to ending things due to what he termed as overwhelming financial expectations.
In a candid conversation, Commentator shared how the weight of financial responsibility had taken a toll on their relationship, especially after the birth of their child, which complicated his decision to leave.
“We were parting ways. When you’re putting all that pressure on me, you think someone is thinking of love?” he confessed.
The content creator detailed how, at one point, he and Moureen were splitting bills 50:50 while living in Kahawa Sukari, but financial constraints later forced them to move to a cheaper house. The cost-sharing shifted to a 70:30 arrangement, with Moureen handling expenses like shopping, WiFi, and electricity so that Commentator could save.
“At least I could save and even take you out,” he added.
The tension peaked when Moureen, feeling unappreciated, reportedly went on an unannounced shopping spree and later called Commentator to foot the bill.
“There was a time you planned something for me, but in my mind I knew this guy cannot do anything for me,” Moureen said, reflecting on her frustrations.
Despite earning up to KSh 2–3 million monthly, Commentator claimed the demands left him financially and emotionally strained.
