Matungulu, Machakos County – Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a decomposed body of an unidentified woman was discovered in a maize plantation in the Matungulu area.
Farm workers stumbled upon the partially concealed body, which had been covered with grass, and immediately alerted authorities.
According to police reports, initial assessments suggest the woman may have been murdered elsewhere and her body dumped in the field to conceal the crime.
The remains were taken to a local mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death. Police say efforts are ongoing to establish the woman’s identity.
