A 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a heated altercation in Nkiine village, Meru County, on Sunday night, July 6, 2025.
Police have identified the deceased as Euticus Mugambi, who was stabbed in the neck during the incident. Authorities say they are yet to establish the motive behind the confrontation that turned deadly.
The body was moved to a local mortuary pending a postmortem examination, as investigations continue.
According to a statement from the Meru County Police Command, the suspect was later arrested at his residence in the Mangaya area and is currently in custody.
Law enforcement officials say they are working to uncover what triggered the fatal clash between the two.
