Nairobi, Kenya — Police are investigating a daring robbery that took place in the early hours of Wednesday, July 16, in the upscale New Kitsuru Estate. A gang of eight armed men raided the residence of a prominent insurance company CEO, making away with a loaded pistol, valuables, and cash. The Nairobi CEO home raid has left the victim’s family traumatised and raised fresh concerns over rising insecurity in affluent neighbourhoods.

How the Attack Happened

According to sources who spoke to sauce.co.ke, the gang struck at around 5:00 a.m. by scaling the perimeter wall and cutting through a rear window grill. Once inside, they tied up the entire family and demanded valuables at gunpoint.

The robbers stole a Glock pistol loaded with 50 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, two luxury watches, a ring, electronics, and KSh 9,000 in cash. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the ordeal, but police say the emotional toll on the family is considerable.

Inside Job? Police Probe Prior Knowledge

The man whose home was targeted is a licensed firearm holder, police confirmed. What has raised suspicion is how well the robbers seemed to know their way around the home.

“This was a well-coordinated attack. The gang knew exactly where to strike and what to take,” a police officer involved in the investigation told sauce.co.ke.

The robbers reportedly demanded the keys to the backyard exit, which they used to escape. This has led investigators to suspect the possibility of an inside job or prior tip-off, given how precise and effective the raid was.

Home Security in Nairobi Under the Spotlight

The Nairobi CEO home raid is just the latest in a string of high-profile home invasions in Kenya’s capital. Residents of gated communities like New Kitsuru are now being urged to beef up their security systems and remain vigilant.

Experts advise homeowners to install CCTV, burglar alarms, and motion sensors, and to vet domestic workers rigorously. It is also essential to stay informed about gun licensing laws in Kenya to ensure safe storage and use of firearms.
