Police in Kamagambo, Migori County, have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man during a confrontation in a local bar.
The victim, Gregory Odhiambo, died from excessive bleeding after being stabbed in the ribs during an altercation with another reveller on July 1. Authorities say the two men were known to each other prior to the incident.
A sword believed to have been used in the killing was recovered at the scene, strengthening the murder case against the suspect.
“The assailant fled the scene but was found hiding in a nearby butchery hours later,” Migori County police confirmed.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court for murder charges.
Gregory’s body was moved to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination, police added.
