Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia has ignited a firestorm of public backlash after posting a controversial Facebook rant targeting gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya, over rumors surrounding his estranged wife Trizah’s alleged pregnancy.
In his now-viral post, the outspoken lawmaker mocked Karangu Muraya for what he called “allowing humiliation in broad daylight,” referring to unverified reports that Trizah was impregnated by her makeup artist.
What has raised even greater concern is the MP’s apparent encouragement of violence, suggesting that the alleged man responsible should “be decomposing,” and advising Karangu to “take lessons from Kiambu men who don’t tolerate such nonsense.”
“He is supposed to be decomposing. Take lessons from Kiambu men. They boil you alive,” Kururia wrote, prompting many Kenyans to demand disciplinary action from the Office of the Speaker and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).
Karangu Muraya, known for his philanthropic efforts and Akorino gospel music career, has yet to issue any public statement regarding either the MP’s comments or the rumors about Trizah’s pregnancy. Social media remains abuzz with speculation, with some reports alleging that Trizah may have suffered complications after a failed attempt to terminate the pregnancy.
