City lawyer and political advisor Silas Jakakimba and his wife, Florence Adhiambo, have announced their separation after three years of marriage.

The announcement was made in a joint statement released on Thursday, July 17, 2025, marking the end of their union that had previously drawn public admiration following a lavish wedding ceremony in 2022.

In the statement shared via Silas Jakakimba’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the couple described their decision as a “difficult” one that followed “careful consideration and much reflection.”

Decision Reached Respectfully and With Family Support

The statement highlighted that the separation was a mutual and respectful decision, made with the full backing of their close family members and spiritual leaders.

“This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public,” said Jakakimba.

Call for Privacy During Transition

The couple stressed the need for privacy as they navigate this new chapter in their lives. They asked the public and media to respect their space and refrain from speculation.

“We remain fully committed to maintaining the privacy and well-being of our family during this transition. We ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this personal matter,” Jakakimba added.

They also made it clear that they will not be offering any more public commentary on the matter going forward.

“We will not be making any further public statements whatsoever regarding this matter at this or, at any other time—and we do appreciate your understanding.”

Background

Silas Jakakimba is a well-known lawyer and political advisor who has worked with prominent figures in Kenya’s political scene. His wife, Florence Adhiambo, has largely kept a low public profile, although their wedding had previously drawn widespread media attention.

The couple’s split adds to the growing list of high-profile Kenyan relationships that have ended in recent months, triggering renewed conversations around marriage and public life.
