Kenyan actor and content creator Tyler Mbaya, popularly known as Baha, has opened up about the leak of his private videos, revealing that what many expected to be a humiliating experience has instead empowered him in ways he never imagined.
In a video shared on his TikTok page on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Mbaya addressed the viral scandal with surprising boldness, claiming that it has left him with an unshakable sense of confidence, especially when navigating public and professional spaces.
“These days, I walk around wondering, ‘Did Mama Mboga see those videos?’” Mbaya said with a chuckle, using the term Mama Mboga to symbolize the ordinary Kenyan who may have seen the viral content but remains unfazed.
Rather than allowing the leak to break him, the former “Machachari” star says it stripped away any remaining fear or pretense he held in public life.
“But like, bro, there is some self-confidence that I have nowadays that is so unmatched,” he stated. “Walking into a boardroom and not caring—that is the kind of confidence I am talking about.”
Mbaya described the paradox of losing privacy but gaining power, explaining that with nothing left to hide, he now walks boldly and unapologetically through life.
The actor noted that reactions to the leaked videos varied greatly depending on the audience. According to him, symbolic figures like Mama Mboga show indifference, while men tend to be more judgmental, often leaving harsh comments on his posts.
“A man sees it and starts commenting on my posts. Wah!” he exclaimed, highlighting the gendered nature of online scrutiny.
Despite his outward confidence, Mbaya admitted that the only lingering concern he has relates to his daughter, Astra Kamau.
“The truth is that stuff no longer bothers me. The only thing that weighs on me a little is the fact that in future, I will have to sit down and have a conversation with my child. Because I know one day, she will come and ask me about it,” he reflected.
