Lydia Wanjiru has broken her silence following allegations that she pushed her boyfriend, Leon Doso, from an apartment balcony in what some speculated was an act of revenge.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Lydia categorically denied the claims, stating that the incident was a tragic accident and not an intentional act.
“There’s no big story. Leon fell while removing his shoes. The balcony rails are very low,” she wrote.
“Thank God it didn’t happen when we were just two of us or in an apartment without CCTV.”
She revealed that CCTV footage captured the moment Leon fell, corroborating her version of events and ruling out foul play.
Not Alone and Not First: Previous Incident In Same Building
Lydia added that just two days earlier, a 2-year-old child had also fallen from the same apartment,
“That child fell too from the same building. I was not even the first to reach Leon after the fall—I was the third person,” she clarified.
The building in question reportedly has low balcony railings, raising safety concerns among residents and the public.
CCTV Footage to Be Key in Ongoing Investigations
Police are said to be reviewing the CCTV footage as part of their investigations. So far, no arrests have been made, and the matter is being treated as an ongoing inquiry into an accidental fall.
Leon Doso, a popular content creator and event organizer based in Kisumu, is currently recovering in hospital after suffering serious injuries from the fall.
