Nakuru Club Space Next Door Criticized Over Skimpy School Uniform Promo Video

Popular Nakuru nightclub Space Next Door has come under sharp criticism after releasing a promotional video featuring dancers dressed in skimpy school uniforms.

The video which was initially shared on its social media accounts, has since been deleted following intense backlash from Kenyans online.

Public Outcry Over “Sexualizing Minors”

Critics argue that using school uniforms as costumes in a nightclub setting is deeply inappropriate.

Netizens view  the act to normalizing child indecency.

According to concerned parents and activists, the imagery sexualizes school-going children and could be seen as enabling the exploitation of minors.

Social media users called for the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) and child protection agencies to take action against such marketing tactics, arguing that clubs must exercise more responsibility in content creation.

Club Yet to Respond

While Space Next Door has not issued an official statement, the venue quickly pulled down the controversial video. The removal, however, has not quelled public anger, with some Kenyans demanding accountability and an apology.

Growing Concern Over Club Promotions

This incident comes amid rising concern over the sexualization of minors in entertainment promotions. Similar cases have in the past attracted regulatory scrutiny from bodies such as UNICEF and Kenya’s own child welfare groups.

Analysts warn that unless regulated, such marketing stunts risk sending dangerous messages to young audiences.
