Media personality and Citizen TV host Azeezah Hashim has sparked online debate after candidly sharing her views on marriage, love, and dowry during an interview with YouTuber Silva Kiddo.
“I Cannot Marry Myself”
Azeezah revealed that while she is ready for marriage, she does not subscribe to society’s traditional expectations. She disclosed that no man has formally proposed to her yet, but she remains open and patient.
“I cannot marry myself, yet you men have not come. There have been no proposals, and I do not want dowry – you can come just as you are,” Azeezah said.
Love Over Dowry
For the multi-talented TV host, love is the only requirement for marriage. She emphasized that she does not believe in bride price, noting that the responsibility to initiate a relationship lies with the man.
“I only want love. I am not the one who should look for a man; he should present himself,” she added.
Open to Being a Second Wife
In a bold revelation, Azeezah said she would be open to becoming a second wife, but only under one condition.
“If someone wants me to be a second wife, he should come with his first wife to my parents. If they come and say they want me, I will be ready,” she stated.
Her Advice to Women
Azeezah also cautioned women against pursuing men, saying relationships that begin this way often lack seriousness.
“Sometimes, when a woman looks for a man, he does not take her seriously. It becomes something to tick off a checklist,” she warned.
