The National Police Service (NPS) on Friday evening received the body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, a Kenyan police officer who died while serving under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti earlier this month.

The remains touched down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where they were received by senior police officers led by Isaac Alimaa, Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

Officer Died in Haiti Road Accident

Corporal Nzuve, 41, lost his life in a road traffic accident on September 1, 2025, along the Kenscoff-Petion-Ville road while on active peacekeeping duty in Haiti. He was rushed to Lambert Sante Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police, Family Receive His Body

The solemn reception at JKIA was also attended by Nzuve’s family, led by his mother, Serah.

In a statement, the NPS expressed deep condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, assuring them of “unwavering support during this period of profound sorrow.”

Body Moved to Chiromo Mortuary

Following the reception, the officer’s body was transferred to Chiromo Mortuary in Nairobi for preservation as burial arrangements continue. Details of the funeral will be communicated in due course.

Corporal Nzuve was a member of the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) and had served with dedication in Kenya and abroad before his untimely death.
