Former WWE superstar and Hollywood icon Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shocked fans with his jaw-dropping physical transformation during a recent public appearance.

The 53-year-old wrestler-turned-actor revealed a leaner, slimmed-down physique after shedding nearly 27 kilograms for his latest film role. Johnson portrays former MMA fighter Mark Kerr in the highly anticipated biopic The Smashing Machine.

Standing Ovation in Venice

The Rock’s transformation and emotional performance earned him a 15-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival on Monday. Videos circulating on social media showed the actor breaking down in tears as the crowd celebrated his work.

Why The Rock Lost Weight

Unlike his usual larger-than-life muscular build, Johnson slimmed down drastically to accurately capture the struggles and journey of Kerr. The dramatic weight loss was part of his preparation for the role, which many critics are already calling one of his finest performances.

Release Date Confirmed

The Smashing Machine is set to hit theaters on October 3, 2025, and expectations are soaring after the powerful festival reception.
