A routine day on the road turned chaotic after a matatu driver crashed into “Mood”, a flashy matatu reportedly owned by President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto.

The accident drew a crowd of curious onlookers, many whispering about the matatu’s high-profile ownership and speculating how the case would be handled.

The Accident Scene

According to witnesses, the ordinary matatu rammed into the side of “Mood,” which is known across Nairobi’s matatu culture for its flashy artwork, booming sound system, and celebrity appeal. The driver of the offending vehicle was visibly shaken after realizing who the owner of the damaged vehicle was.

Social Media Reactions

News of the accident spread quickly on social platforms, with Kenyans online debating whether the case would be handled fairly or if the driver might face harsher consequences due to the involvement of the First Family.

Some netizens sympathized with the driver, calling it “bad luck,” while others joked about Nairobi’s unpredictable matatu industry, where even the President’s son isn’t spared from road chaos.

What Next?

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, “Mood” remains a fan-favorite in Nairobi’s matatu scene, often trending for its unique design and popularity with Gen Z commuters.
