A 21-year-old self-proclaimed forex trader, Domnic Mutua, popularly known on Instagram as Wabirabusa KE/254, has been arrested in connection with a suspected online investment scam.

According to verified police reports, Mutua was arrested last Saturday from his suspected residence and operation base in Kasarani. He was later taken to Mlolongo Police Station, where a complainant reported being defrauded.

The Scam Allegations

One victim alleged that Mutua lured him with promises of handsome returns on forex investments. The complainant claimed he deposited KSh10,000, only for the suspect to vanish and cut off communication immediately after receiving the money.

Police say Mutua operated anonymously on Instagram but was eventually tracked down to Kasarani, where he was arrested a few days after the incident.

Ongoing Investigations

Authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue. Police have urged other potential victims who may have fallen prey to the alleged scheme to come forward and record statements.
