Residents of Kanorero village, Kangema, Murang’a County were left in shock after a woman allegedly stabbed her three children, killing two instantly and leaving the third critically injured.

According to preliminary police reports, the 28-year-old woman is suspected to have acted following suspicions that her husband was engaged in an extramarital affair.

The children, aged seven, four, and two, were attacked inside their home. The two-year-old and seven-year-old succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the four-year-old was rushed to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital, where doctors report the child remains in critical condition.

After the attack, the woman is said to have attempted to stab herself before surrendering at Kanorero Police Post. She was later transferred to Kangema Police Station for further processing.

Community in Shock

The brutal incident has sparked fear and grief in the local community. Police have assured residents that investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances behind the tragedy.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased children have been moved to Kangema morgue pending postmortem examinations.
