A suspect identified as Yaya Mohamed was lynched by an angry mob in Huruma, Nairobi, after he allegedly stabbed and killed a man during a dispute over KSh500.

According to police reports, Mohamed stabbed Juma Guyola in the chest after an argument broke out when Guyola went to demand repayment of money he had earlier advanced to him.

The altercation turned fatal, with Guyola collapsing at the scene from excessive bleeding. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

When news of the stabbing spread, enraged locals tracked Mohamed to a house where he was hiding. They flushed him out and stoned him to death, despite police officers’ attempts to rescue him.

Police have since moved both bodies to the mortuary as investigations continue.

Authorities have urged members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to report such incidents to law enforcement.
