Media personality Willis Raburu has successfully recovered his stolen Samsung Galaxy Fold, worth over KSh 240,000, after it went missing during an event at Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.
Raburu revealed that he managed to trace the thief using a security tracking app installed on the phone, which captured a photo of the suspect while attempting to unlock the device.
“The app sent me the suspect’s photo and location, which made it easy for the police to track him down,” Raburu said in a statement shared on his social media.
The former Citizen TV presenter expressed gratitude to social media users, the Kibera Police, and his personal security team for their swift collaboration that led to the recovery of the gadget.
Although the phone was recovered in a damaged condition, Raburu said he chose not to press charges against the suspect after tracing his home and workplace, citing forgiveness.
“I found my phone, though it’s not in perfect shape. I have forgiven the person responsible,” he added.
Fans online praised Raburu for his calm and compassionate approach, with many lauding him as an example of grace and maturity in handling theft incidents.
