Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has announced fresh concert cancellations on his No Signs of Weakness Tour 2025. The Burna Boy concert cancellations, affecting shows in Minneapolis and Chicago, come weeks after a viral fan incident that triggered public backlash and a drop in ticket sales.
Burna Boy Cancels Two U.S. Concerts
Burna Boy revealed that his Minneapolis (Nov 18) and Chicago (Dec 1) shows will not take place.
These cancellations follow earlier reports suggesting the entire U.S. leg was at risk, though only the two dates have been officially pulled.
The tour began in Europe and Australia before heading to North America.
Backlash Started After Denver Incident
Trouble began in early November after a viral clip from Burna Boy’s Denver show.
In the video, the singer stopped his performance and confronted a front-row fan who appeared to be asleep.
Burna Boy said:
“When I stand up here and see you over there with your girl sleeping, it pisses me off. I’m not doing another song until you go home.”
Security escorted the fan out, sparking outrage online.
Critics accused the Grammy winner of arrogance, and social media debates quickly escalated.
Burna Boy Doubles Down, Fans Walk Away
Instead of diffusing the tension, Burna Boy worsened it during a later livestream.
He told viewers in Pidgin:
“Did I ask you all to be my fans? I’m only looking for fans with money these days.”
His comments angered many long-time supporters.
Fans in several cities said they were no longer buying tickets, leading to declining sales on multiple tour stops.
Singer Issues Public Apology in Dallas
During his recent Dallas performance, Burna Boy finally addressed the fallout and admitted the drama had hurt him financially.
He told the crowd:
“I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced, no one is buying. So please, I am sorry for everything I said. It was a slip of the tongue.”
The apology marks his first direct attempt to repair relations with fans amid growing concerns over the tour’s stability.
