Cardi B Turns Newborn’s Umbilical Cord Into Gold Necklace

Cardi B has found one of the most unexpected and creative ways to celebrate the arrival of her newborn son — by turning his umbilical cord into a gold necklace.

The rapper, who welcomed her fourth child on November 4, commissioned a custom piece made from the cord, transforming a part of her son’s birth story into a heart-shaped pendant.

The unique keepsake was created by Juliane Marie Corona, owner of Mommy Made Encapsulations, the same specialist Cardi has worked with before. In an Instagram video shared on November 20, Corona demonstrated the process: shaping the umbilical cord into a heart, dehydrating it, coating it in gold, and finally turning it into wearable jewellery.

But the necklace wasn’t the only sentimental item. Cardi also received a placenta print and had part of the placenta turned into capsules, a practice some mothers believe aids postpartum recovery.

Cardi B confirmed her son’s arrival on November 19 through an intimate Instagram post featuring her and boyfriend Stefon Diggs, marking the couple’s first child together.
