Siaya Senator and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Oburu Odinga has announced that he is taking a short sabbatical.
In a statement released on November 21, Oburu said the break is meant to help him recollect, reset, and recharge, adding that he remains in good health and high spirits.
“Feeling grateful for good health and high spirits. Taking a short sabbatical to recollect, recharge, and reset,” he shared.
His sister, Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga, confirmed that Oburu will be traveling to Dubai for a three-day rest after what she described as an intense and hectic political period.
On October 16, Oburu Odinga was officially appointed by ODM as the Acting Party Leader following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. However, his appointment has not been without friction. Several ODM leaders have openly questioned the decision, signaling internal resistance within the party’s leadership structure.
