Kenyan comedian and actor Sammy Kioko has announced he is selling his beloved car to raise funds for his sister’s medical treatment — a heartfelt decision that has touched many of his fans online.

The celebrated entertainer, known for his comic skits and warm personality, took to Instagram on Sunday to share the emotional update, describing the vehicle as a “blessing” he has cherished for eight years.

“Family Comes First”

In his emotional post, Kioko explained that while parting with the car was painful, his sister’s health was far more important.

“Sometimes, as a man, you have to do what you have to do even if it hurts,” he wrote.
“This car has been a blessing to me, but right now, my sister needs me more. I thank everyone who has reached out and offered support.”

Kioko added that he hoped the car would bring joy to its next owner:

“I don’t want to say tunauza hii gari. I just want to say I want to dispose it — nataka kubariki mtu nayo with a good price.”

Financial Strain and Unpaid County Debt

The post comes amid reports that Kioko has been facing financial difficulties, allegedly due to an unpaid debt of KSh 19 million by the Machakos County Government for projects he completed.

The comedian is said to have closed his clothing business after struggling to recover the payment, further compounding his challenges.

Fans React with Support and Encouragement

Following his announcement, fans and fellow entertainers flooded Kioko’s comment section with messages of encouragement and solidarity.

Many praised his decision as a reflection of love and sacrifice, urging the government to settle pending bills owed to creatives.

“You’re a real one, bro. Family over everything,” one fan wrote.
“May God bless you and your sister with healing,” another commented.
