Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has advised comedian Eric Omondi to seek election in Embakasi East rather than Lang’ata, following a new Mizani Africa poll showing Jalang’o with a strong lead in his re-election bid.
The survey, released on Monday, November 3, 2025, indicates that Jalang’o commands 55.3% support among registered voters in Lang’ata Constituency. He is followed by Abass Khaliff with 8.5%, while Eric Omondi trails in third place with 5.3%.
According to the report, 28.8% of respondents said they remain undecided on who to support in the upcoming election.
Jalang’o’s Advice to Eric Omondi
Reacting to the poll results, Jalang’o jokingly advised Eric Omondi to shift his political ambitions to Embakasi East, currently represented by Babu Owino.
“Tell Eric to go try Embakasi East — Babu is going up!” Jalang’o quipped, referencing Owino’s growing national profile.
The remarks have sparked lively debate online, with supporters of both public figures trading barbs over who would make the better MP.
Eric Omondi’s Political Bid
Comedian Eric Omondi, known for his social activism and humanitarian efforts, announced earlier this year that he would contest the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
He has positioned himself as a voice for unemployed youth, often using social media platforms to address issues such as poverty, corruption, and economic inequality.
About the Mizani Africa Poll
The Mizani Africa survey sampled 1,250 registered voters across Lang’ata, using a computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) methodology. The poll had a margin of error of ±2.3% and a confidence level of 95%, according to the firm.
Analysts say the poll results indicate that Jalang’o remains popular despite facing criticism over his shifting political alliances since entering Parliament in 2022.
