Media personality Doreen Majala has opened up about troubling experiences she says occurred during her marriage to Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi, alleging that the legislator repeatedly humiliated and disrespected her while they were still together.
Speaking in an interview with blogger Edgar Obare, Majala revisited intimate details of the marriage she had largely kept private for years, recounting events she says contributed to their eventual separation.
Alleges MP Invited Young Women Into Their Karen Home
Majala claims that during their union, the MP would invite young women to their matrimonial Karen home, behaviour she describes as deeply distressing and emotionally exhausting. She said the experience left her feeling undermined in her own house.
Claims MP Had a Relationship With Househelp
In one of the most serious allegations, Majala claims that the MP had a relationship with their then-househelp, Evelyn Kanyaa, who was reportedly 18 years old at the time.
According to Majala, the alleged relationship occurred during a period when she and Mulyungi had temporarily separated. She further alleges that the househelp later gave birth to twins purportedly linked to the MP.
Majala claims Evelyn believed the MP would eventually marry her, but those expectations collapsed once Majala and the legislator reconciled.
Custody Dispute Alleged
Majala also alleges that Evelyn has been struggling to gain custody of the twins, insisting that the MP has not handed the children over to their biological mother. These claims have not been independently verified, and the MP has not issued a public response.
Past Assault Case Resurfaces
Doreen Majala and MP Mulyungi first made national headlines several years ago after Majala accused the MP of assault, leading to a widely publicised court case. Although the matter later faded from public attention, Majala now says the situation behind the scenes was far more complex than previously known.
MP Mulyungi has not publicly responded to the new allegations, and no official complaint regarding the latest claims has been filed in court.
