Digital content creator and influencer Millicent Ayuwa, popularly known as Dem Wa Facebook, has sparked online debate after questioning what she described as a growing trend among women of stepping out without wearing innerwear.
In a video shared on her official Instagram account on Sunday, January 18, 2026, the comedian wondered when women stopped wearing panties, noting that many now move around confidently in short outfits without undergarments.
“Ladies, ni lini muliwacha kuvaa suruali, ni lini mliwacha kuvaa kifuniko ya asali? Siku hizi madem munatembea na confidence unavaa nguo fupi na hauna kitu ndani?” she posed in the video.
Dem Wa Facebook questioned how some women feel comfortable going to public places such as town centres and clubs without innerwear, suggesting the shift marks a major change in fashion and personal comfort norms.
She jokingly compared the trend to the decline of traditional clothing items, asking whether women had “decided to collapse the panty industry the same way camisoles disappeared.”
Sharing her personal view, the influencer said she could not relate to the trend, noting that she feels uncomfortable even being at home without innerwear.
“Mimi nikiamka asubuhi bila suruali ati niingie sitting room sikuwangi comfortable,” she said.
She further remarked that the trend appears unfamiliar to women from rural backgrounds, adding humorously that village girls may be “left behind” by the changing fashion choices.
The video has since drawn mixed reactions online, with social media users debating personal freedom, comfort, and evolving fashion trends among women.
