Content creator Andrew Kibe has publicly criticised Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, accusing him of fabricating information surrounding the controversy involving US-based Kenyan James Opande and 22-year-old Marion Naipei.

Speaking during an online rant, Kibe claimed Mosiria misrepresented facts about the encounter between Opande and Naipei, arguing that Naipei was not a victim as portrayed. Kibe dismissed claims that Naipei had been drugged, insisting she was fully aware and willing during the encounter that later sparked public outrage.

The controversy centres on allegations that Opande recorded and shared indecent videos of Naipei without her consent. Naipei has maintained that she was intoxicated and taken advantage of, while Opande reportedly told authorities that the interaction was consensual and that Naipei willingly participated and initiated physical contact.

Kibe took issue with Mosiria’s involvement in the case, accusing him of exaggerating details and unfairly targeting Opande. Mosiria had earlier said he reported Opande to immigration authorities and the US Embassy in an effort to prevent him from leaving the country following the incident.

In his remarks, Kibe called on Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to dismiss Mosiria from office, describing him as “a danger to society” and accusing him of consistently taking positions that undermine men.

“He is lying to the public and pushing narratives that are not factual. This man should not be in public office,” Kibe said, adding that Mosiria’s actions amounted to “siding against the boy child.”

Mosiria has previously been a controversial figure in Nairobi politics. In November 2025, Governor Sakaja reassigned him from the Environment docket—where he gained prominence for cracking down on noisy clubs and entertainment joints—to the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service department, a move widely interpreted as a demotion.

Kibe has had a long-running public feud with Mosiria, having previously criticised his aggressive enforcement tactics against bars and clubs in residential neighbourhoods.

The Opande–Naipei case continues to attract national attention, drawing sharp divisions online as public figures, activists and government officials weigh in on issues of consent, privacy, and the handling of sensitive cases by authorities.
