Police are investigating the mysterious death of a man who was found dead inside his car in the Mirema area of Kasarani, Nairobi.
The deceased was identified as Kevin Onoka, whose family told police that he arrived home on Sunday night and informed them he intended to rest inside his vehicle.
According to relatives, Onoka locked himself inside the car and went to sleep.
Found Unresponsive
On Monday morning, family members became concerned after he failed to respond and was later found unconscious inside the vehicle.
Police officers who responded to the scene said the body was found seated in the driver’s seat and showed no visible physical injuries.
Officers were forced to break into the car to access the body.
Suspected Suffocation
Preliminary police reports indicate that suffocation is suspected as a possible cause of death, though investigators noted that the exact circumstances remain unclear.
The body was removed from the scene and taken to a mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Investigations Ongoing
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine whether there was foul play or a medical-related incident, and they have urged members of the public to avoid speculation as inquiries continue.
