Police in Nairobi are investigating a fatal stabbing incident in Majengo slums where a man was killed following a fight over a woman.
The deceased has been identified as Peter Onyango, who was allegedly attacked by a man accusing him of having an affair with his wife.
According to police reports, the suspect confronted Onyango armed with a knife, leading to a violent altercation that turned deadly.
Body Found Hours After Attack
The victim’s body was discovered in the early hours of Monday morning, lying in a corridor within the densely populated settlement. He was found in a pool of blood, several hours after the fatal attack.
Police said Onyango sustained multiple stab wounds to the stomach, indicating a brutal assault.
Suspect on the Run
Authorities confirmed that the assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack and is currently at large. A manhunt has been launched as detectives work to trace and arrest the suspect.
“The attacker accused the deceased of engaging in an affair with his wife before stabbing him,” police said.
Body Taken to Mortuary
The body was moved to a city mortuary pending a post-mortem examination and completion of other legal procedures.
Police have urged members of the public with information that could assist in the arrest of the suspect to come forward as investigations continue.
