Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama has been elected the 52nd President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

Kanjama takes over leadership from Faith Odhiambo for a two-year term.

Election Results

In the closely watched contest, Kanjama secured 3,728 votes to clinch the presidency.

His competitors finished as follows:

  • Peter Wanyama – 2,616 votes
  • Mwaura Kabata – 2,086 votes

The results place Kanjama at the helm of the lawyers’ body at a time when the legal profession continues to play a central role in governance, constitutional matters, and public interest litigation in Kenya.
