Comedian and social media influencer Eric Omondi has sustained torn ligaments in his left leg and hip while undertaking his ambitious 480-kilometre charity walk from Nairobi to Mombasa.
The fundraising walk, which kicked off on Tuesday, January 10, at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium, saw Omondi cover an impressive 63 kilometres on the first day before the injury occurred. Despite the painful setback, the entertainer has vowed to push on with the journey.
“I will keep going, even if by crawling to Mombasa,” Omondi said, reaffirming his commitment to the cause.
The long-distance walk is aimed at raising funds for the proposed Sisi Kwa Sisi Rescue Centre. According to Omondi, the facility will feature a warehouse, two ambulances, a medical clinic, and a secondary school that will offer free education to its students.
The initiative has drawn widespread attention online, with supporters praising his determination and resilience in the face of injury. As he continues the trek, many Kenyans are closely following his progress and contributing towards the project.
If completed, the 480km walk will mark one of Omondi’s most demanding charity efforts yet, underscoring his shift from comedy to philanthropy-driven activism.
