Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has officially announced her bid for the Makadara Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking to supporters at Bidii Primary School in Buruburu, Passaris confirmed she will not seek a third term in her current affirmative action role.

“Time to Rotate the Seat”

Passaris stated that the Woman Representative position should be rotated to empower other women leaders, describing her decision as both personal and strategic.

She noted that leadership transition is essential in creating space for new voices and strengthening women’s political participation.

Backed by George Aladwa

Her announcement comes as part of a broader coordinated political strategy in Nairobi.

Passaris has received the official endorsement of the current Makadara MP, George Aladwa, who has declared his intention to run for the Nairobi Governorship in 2027.

The developments signal early political realignments in the capital as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the next General Election.
