Police in Ngobit are investigating a tragic case in which a 68-year-old man allegedly killed his three-year-old granddaughter before taking his own life.

The incident occurred on February 23, 2026, when the man, identified as Titus Wamae, was reportedly left at home to care for the child. Authorities suspect that he struck and strangled the girl with a blunt object, leading to her death.

Wamae’s body was later found hanging on a truss inside his house. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Both bodies have been moved to the mortuary pending autopsies as police continue their investigations.
