Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has announced his intention to contest for the Secretary General position of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Kuria revealed that he will be vying for the powerful party post during the upcoming National Delegates Congress (NDC) scheduled for June 2026.

Eyeing Key Party Role

The Secretary General position is one of the most influential offices within UDA, overseeing party operations, coordination and implementation of resolutions made by the party leadership.

Kuria’s declaration signals heightened internal competition within the ruling party as it reorganises ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Political Significance

His entry into the race is expected to reshape internal party dynamics, given his long-standing influence in Kenya’s political landscape and his previous role in government.

The June 2026 NDC is anticipated to attract significant attention, as UDA delegates converge to elect new officials and chart the party’s direction going forward.
