Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has announced plans to sponsor a one-month professional boxing training programme for popular street fighter Mbavu Destroyer ahead of his anticipated bout against Majembe.
In a statement issued on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Mosiria said he is urgently seeking to locate the fighter to facilitate a structured training camp that will include access to a gym and a qualified boxing coach.
The county official said the sponsorship is aimed at equipping Mbavu Destroyer with proper boxing skills to ensure he is adequately prepared for the upcoming match.
“I am urgently looking for Mbavu Destroyer, also known as Weka Mawe, so that I can sponsor a one-month professional boxing training programme, including a gym and a coach, ahead of his match against Majembe,” Mosiria said.
He noted that boxing is a highly technical sport and warned that lack of preparation could put the fighter at a disadvantage in the ring.
“Boxing is about skill and technique. The training is important so that he is not overpowered during the fight,” he added.
The announcement comes days after media personality and content creator Oga Obinna officially confirmed the much-anticipated match between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer, which has been scheduled for April 4, 2026.
The winner of the contest is set to walk away with a cash prize of KSh1 million, making it one of the most talked-about boxing showdowns in local entertainment circles.
