Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Catherine Omanyo has unveiled a new party DJ following the exit of the outfit’s official Azimio disc jockey, DJ Spider.
DJ Spider is said to have joined the “Linda Mwananchi” faction associated with embattled ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, deepening internal wrangles within the party.
Fresh Realignments Within ODM
The move comes amid growing factional battles inside ODM, with rival camps consolidating their support bases ahead of anticipated political activities.
Omanyo’s announcement signals an attempt by the party leadership to maintain control of official events and messaging machinery, including branding and mobilisation efforts typically supported by party-affiliated entertainers.
While details of the new DJ’s identity and role at upcoming functions were not immediately disclosed, insiders say the change reflects broader restructuring efforts within the party.
DJ Spider’s Shift to “Linda Mwananchi”
DJ Spider had been a regular presence at Azimio coalition events, providing sound and hype during rallies and political gatherings.
His decision to align with the Linda Mwananchi faction linked to Sifuna underscores the widening cracks within the party’s ranks.
Political observers say the battle over symbolic roles — including event MCs and DJs — highlights the intensity of the ongoing supremacy contest within ODM.
