Gilgil Hills Academy is facing mounting scrutiny following the tragic death of a learner whose body was discovered in a pond within the school compound.
Student Found Dead After Going Missing
According to a family statement, the boy identified as Faiz was last seen at around 10AM on Friday, March 27, within the school premises.
His body was reportedly discovered about three hours later, at approximately 1PM, inside what has been described as a fish pond located within the institution.
Family Raises Negligence Concerns
The family has raised concerns over possible negligence, questioning how the learner went missing for hours without immediate detection.
They have also pointed to inconsistencies in the accounts given by the school’s administration, with the principal and the class teacher reportedly providing conflicting explanations.
Hospital Transfer Without Parental Notification
Further concerns have been raised after claims that the child was taken to Gilgil Sub-County Hospital without notifying the parents, where he was later confirmed dead.
The family has termed the handling of the situation as troubling and is demanding accountability from the institution.
Calls for Transparency
The family is now calling on the school management to provide a clear timeline of events leading up to the incident.
They have also demanded the release of CCTV footage to help establish what transpired before the learner’s death.
