Media personality Kamene Goro has opened up about her recent battle with a near-fatal illness, revealing she nearly lost her life after months of being unwell.
In a candid message to her followers, Kamene explained that she had been sick since November 2025, but did not initially realise how serious her condition was.
“I Almost Died”
According to Kamene, her health deteriorated significantly in January 2026, pushing her into a life-threatening situation.
“In January, I almost died,” she said, recounting the ordeal.
She revealed that she was in a critical 12-hour life-or-death window, during which a team of four doctors worked tirelessly to save her life.
Severe Medical Complications
Kamene disclosed that she was diagnosed with Sepsis and Peritonitis, a serious inflammation of the abdominal lining.
Doctors reportedly drained five litres of pus from her abdomen during emergency treatment.
Her condition was further complicated by kidney failure, forcing her to undergo dialysis.
She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and later the High Dependency Unit (HDU), where she developed Pneumonia and suffered a collapsed lung.
Long Road to Recovery
Kamene said the illness left her physically weak, forcing her to relearn basic activities such as walking.
She described recovery as emotionally and physically draining, noting that the process can feel isolating.
“Recovery is lonely; it sucks, and nobody fully understands you, but you don’t have to go through it alone,” she shared.
Her revelation has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, many wishing her strength as she continues to recover.
